This seminar is designed to take a student with limited knowledge of web page design to a level of proficiency that will be of value not only in today’s fast paced office setting, but will assist the student in marketing him or herself to enhance job search. This seminar combines lecture and hands on computer based training (CBT) to prepare the student for various facets of Web Page Design. Objective
The goal of this course is for the student to be exposed to the features of Web Page Design. Design terminology, planning and creating as well as managing a web site will be reviewed. Completion Standard
This course is broken down into modules with each module representing a major knowledge area. After each module an evaluation will be given. All modules must be completed with a final score of 70% or better. Upon successfully completing all of the modules and evaluations a Certificate of Completion will be awarded to the trainee. The Certification of Completion clearly states the areas of study. PrerequisitesAll candidates for this seminar must have a GED or high school diploma. hours Introduction to Web Page DesignModule 1 This module is the introduction to web page design and will include: Basic product information and helps users familiarize themselves with web page design. Help and training tools, common terminology, understanding the World Wide Web, as well as how and where to get ideas for the planning and creation of the web site will be covered. Creating a Web SiteModule 2 Creating a web site using a Wizard, using a template and creating and importing webs will be demonstrated and practiced in this module. Creating a home page, adding and formatting text, how to organize a web site and how to change web page properties are included in this module. Linking Web PagesModule 3 This module will
cover how to create text hyperlinks and how to link Web pages on the Internet.
The student will also have the opportunity to create Web page bookmarks and to
create an image map hyperlink. Formatting and Enhancing a Web SiteModule 4 Adding style with the use of themes and style sheets, Web page banners and other features will prepare the student to make changes and personalize the web site. Learning to create and format tables and format cell text and how to change Web page properties is included in this module. Adding MultimediaModule 5 Incorporating pictures, sounds and motion clips, how to insert photos and clip art images will all be covered in this module. How to create hover buttons as well as thumbnails that link to the full sized image is part of the multimedia module. Advanced Web Site TechniquesModule 6 Advanced web site techniques will include understanding and creating forms, and how to create a more sophisticated web site. Creating forms for user feedback will be covered and the student will learn how to create a guest book page that will allow visitors to sign in and leave comments. Publishing a web locally as well as on a web server will be demonstrated. The student will be able to publish their own web site that they create.
